Burt and Shelly Kunzler are 3rd generation sheep producers located in Park Valley, Utah. Kunzler Sheep Ranch began in 1940, when Burt’s grandpa, Charles Kunzler, purchased and raised his first band of sheep during World War II. Over the past 60 years, the Kunzler family has proudly worked to expand and improve upon that ranching tradition.
One such improvement is the seasonal movement of the sheep to ensure the best grazing for their lambs. Kunzler sheep spend summers grazing the ranges in Wyoming & Idaho, which provide flowers and grass feed in abundance. In the fall, the sheep are moved back to their home base in Utah where winter grazing on the Utah desert provides an opportunity to feed on some of nature’s best resources.
Kunzler Sheep Ranch is truly a family business, with Burt and Shelly and their three daughters all involved in the business. The Kunzlers work hard to produce the highest quality natural lamb possible and take pride in sharing the ranching lifestyle established all those years ago with future generations.
